We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.
April 5, 2006
Board members, staff, family, and Y members attended the 113th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the Anderson Country Club. Returning to the board for a second term are Rich Dickerson, Tom Maines, Don Peslis, L.J. Mechem, and Rich Mousty. Starting their first terms this year are Dr. Ron Beahm, John Raine, and Sam Walker. Warren Stidham, past President, presided over the induction.
Dan Sager presented retiring board members David DeHart and Tom Hamer each with a plaque for completing six years of service (two terms) with the YMCA Board. Debbie Czarniecki (not present) is also retiring after six years.
Mecca Hill, program director, recognized Scott Harless as the Volunteer of the Year and presented him with a plaque. He has been very supportive of the Y, especially through his involvement with the soccer program.
Terry Pahls, strategic planning committee chair, gave a PowerPoint presentation detailing the Capital Campaign Steering Committee's plans for a new building for the YMCA to be constructed at our current downtown location. Steve and Judy Hardin were recognized as very active Y members who have taught their family the importance of a healthy lifestyle and are featured in the case statement book.
Special thanks to David DeHart, Tom Hamer, and Debbie Czarniecki to their years of service to the board.
